Abstract Mandala #2 – Marigold with Blue
It’s all about movement on this one. It may seem random and yet I sense that it’s all about that moment when energy begins transitioning into form, where the energy connects with our time-space world and becomes visible, it becomes possible.
As an example, when we have a thought to do something (call a friend, go to the store, write a poem, fix the washer, etc.) that’s the energy making itself known. When we pass on it, the energy just spins around waiting to be noticed again. When we act on it, then it becomes “form”, the connection is complete, and it can go on its merry way.
When I asked for title suggestions for this one, two were offered: “Spring Reign” and “Raindrops Surfing in Sand“. What do you think? Do either of these fit? What title would you give it?
About the Abstract Mandala Series
I created this and 11 other abstract mandalas in 2015 as part of a study in color combinations and composition based on the art of Robert Burridge. I was totally out of my comfort zone and I decided to just go with it, knowing I could, at any time, paint over it and start again.
When I finished the series, I put them on display at a local coffee shop. Most of them, including this one, felt incomplete to me. That being said, I neglected to take any action on them until now.
Throughout this week I’ll be updating this mandala and posting my progress on my Mandala of the Day blog.
A Change is Afoot!
Which brings me to my “Change in Plans” for this blog. I decided to spend more time with my existing art; they have been waiting patiently for my attention. So for the time being I’m putting a hold on creating new MotW mandala designs. I’m still posting mandala designs on my Mandala of the Month site.
So here’s the new plan: each week I’ll choose an existing mandala painting that wants to be upgraded and post it here. Throughout the week, I’ll paint/draw/color/collage/etc on it and post my progress on the MotD. Later in the week, I’ll post it again when I finish the upgrade.
Happy Coloring!
joyfully,
Maureen
