“
— Sharon SalzbergLife is like an ever-shifting kaleidoscope– a slight change, and all patterns alter.”
“
— K. M. KeetonWe are a kaleidoscopeof complicated intricacies.A million different facetsof light and darkness.”
“
— Rosabeth Moss KanterCreativity is a lot like lookingat the world through a kaleidoscope. You look at a set of elements, the same ones everyone else sees, but then reassemble thosefloating bits and piecesinto an enticing new possibility.”
This week’s MotW invites us to play with being creative, which is more than doing art-and-craft activities (although they are an excellent way to spark our creative spirit).
Being creative can be applied to _ANY_ activity. All we need do is change things up a bit by asking a simple question: what would happen if I did __________ this way? Is there another way to get from point A to point B. It can be something small or something big.
Some ideas:
- brush your teeth while standing on one foot
- sleep on the other side of the bed
- change up the order of your morning routine
- choose a different genre of music to exercise to
- eat using your non-dominant hand
- sing in the shower
- cook your eggs differently
- take a different route to work (store, appts, etc)
- when doing laundry, fold your clothes a different way
- change your email signature (see if anyone notices)
By playing with creativity, we wake up our Creative Spirit who then broadens our creativity in all areas of lives, enabling us to expand and grow in delightfully enlightened ways.
“Each one of you houses
— WholeBlackPoet
a kaleidoscope deep inside you.
In a matter of time,
you are going to find it.
And once you do,
you are going to set yourself
free from all of that is
holding you back right now.
And it is going to help you fly,
higher than before.
You are going to get the flowers
that you always wished for,
in this mystic garden
we call – the world.
And there, you will find another
kaleidoscope and another one,
and many more. Together,
you may fly past the moon,
I mean, who knows?
Never settle.
Flutter your wings and
you’ll be amazed to see
where it’ll take you.”
Blessings,
