“I think it’s when you take care of yourself,
— Heart Evangelista
you love yourself that you truly bloom
and look your most beautiful.”
“I hope you will go out
— Clarissa Pinkola Estes
and let stories happen to you,
and that you will work them,
water them with your blood and tears
and your laughter till they bloom,
till you yourself burst into bloom.”
“If you feel lost,
— Masaru Emoto
disappointed,
hesitant, or weak,
return to yourself,
to who you are, here and now
and when you get there,
you will discover yourself,
like a lotus flower in full bloom,
even in a muddy pond,
beautiful and strong.”
This week’s MotW invites us to allow ourselves to bloom, to be seen, to be who and what we are. If we’ve been holding ourselves back for any reason (real or imagined), now is the time to at least consider taking a step forward, large or small.
Let go of the idea that things have to be perfect before we can do anything…what is perfect???Yes, there’s the potential for set backs and even rejections. And instead of seeing these as negatives, take them as valuable feedback on how we can do it better next time. Sometimes the missteps turn out to be the ”perfect” thing to happen because of its potential to lead to something even better. That fact that we dare to put ourselves out there is huge and needs to be celebrated.
