“In the midst of darkness, light persists.”
— Mahatma Gandhi
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness:
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate:
only love can do that.”
— Martin Luther King Jr.
“Look at how a single candle
can both defy and define the darkness.”
— Anne Frank
This week’s MotW shines a light on the relationship between light and darkness and what that means for each of us. Essentially both are neutral. To tap into ”A Course in Miracles”: we give them all the meaning they have for us.
If we think of darkness as bad, it’s because we gave darkness that meaning. If we think of light as good, it’s because we gave light that meaning. And because we give them their meaning, we can also change their meaning. Sometimes dark will feel bad and sometimes it will feel good.
Our challenge becomes finding the value in both.

the way, yet I will endure the darkness
because it shows me the stars.”
