22-06 Stardust

Even through [our] hardest days,
remember we are all made of stardust.
— Carl Sagan

“I am one of billions.
I am stardust
gathered fleetingly into form.
I will be ungathered.
The stardust will go on to be
other things someday
and I will be free.
— Laini Taylor

We have calcium in our bones,
iron in our veins, carbon in our souls,
and nitrogen in our brains.
93 percent stardust,
with souls made of flames,
we are all just stars
that have people names.”
― Nikita Gill

This week’s MotW reminds us that in the big scheme of things we are all stardust. From stardust we came from stardust we shall return. We are encouraged, especially when things seem to be a bit overwhelming, to go out at night on solid ground, gaze up at the stars (when they are possible to see), and fully appreciate who and what we are: ”…souls made of flames … just stars that have people names.”
