16-24: Dotty for Dots Mandala

Dotty for Dots Mandala by Maureen Frank

Download this week’s Mandala of the Week

Inspired by yesterday’s MotD, I drew my impression of a segment of clustered helmeted guineafowl feathers. In reality their dots are more uniformly sized and more linearly aligned. For this version, it felt like some liberties could be taken with Mother Nature’s design…to have some fun with it.

This Week…

Essentially a lot of what we do and create is a variation on what someone else has already done…just with a different spin on it, our own personal style or perspective.

For instance, why come up with yet another toaster design? They all do basically the same thing. Yet someone felt inspired to apply their own creativity to it and voilá…another, possibly better, version of a toaster.

Some people may like it, others will pass on it, and then others may feel inspired from your design to take it to yet another level that might have been missed had we avoided putting ours out there.

So when we see all that’s been already done, we may feel discouraged and think, why should I bother to create yet another “toaster” (still life painting, mystery novel, photography blog site, fashion design, construction tool, kitchen gadget, etc.)?

If we feel impassioned to do so, it’s because a “toaster” has yet to be created from our perspective, with our personal style, from the inspiration of our inner Creative Spirit.

It all comes down to this: If the Spirit moves you, go make YOUR version of a “toaster”!

Happy Coloring!
