”Love is Singular, Never Divided”
ACIM Lessons: 121-127
Lesson 121 Forgiveness is the key to happiness.
→ Release opens the door to happiness.
Lesson 122 Forgiveness offers everything I want.
→ Letting go gives me what I truly seek.
Lesson 123 I thank my Father for His gifts to me.
→ I acknowledge and appreciate what has been given to me.
Lesson 124 Let me remember I am one with God.
→ Let me remember my unity with all that is.
Lesson 125 In quiet I receive God’s Words today.
→ In stillness, inner guidance becomes clear.
Lesson 126 All that I give is given to myself.
→ What I extend returns to me.
Lesson 127 There is no love but God’s.
→ Love is the only reality.
Message
In essence, this week we’re encouraged to see from a higher perspective—from love’s perspective. Now, I know what you might be thinking—I know I’m thinking it, at least initially. This sounds like I’d have to sacrifice everything to make sure everyone else’s needs are met; and if I’m lucky, I can at least have what’s left over.
Remember, God’s will for us is perfect happiness—for all of us. Sacrificing my needs for everyone else’s while ignoring my own is not happiness. Have you ever had that experience? I know I have, and let me tell you I was not happy—far from it.
Throughout my teens, 20s, and into my 30s, that was my life—a life as a co-dependent. While I was busy making everyone else happy, I was slowly dying inside. Thankfully, I got the help I needed and found myself again. I found my happiness again.
Love’s perspective is a win-win perspective. While sometimes it might not look that way initially, over time the win shows up. Like the time I lost a county commission election. I accepted the loss, released the disappointment, and focused on appreciating what I gained.
Two years later—because I had run for office—I was hired by that county for a job that turned out to be way better than being a commissioner and it was for double the pay. I’d say that’s a big win.
A great question to ask ourselves this week—and beyond—would be:
What would Love do in this moment? Then be still and await Its answer.
It’s also a great question to ponder as you color this week’s Mandala of the Week.
