16-34: A Rose is a Rose Mandala

A Rose is a Rose Mandala by Maureen Frank

Download this week’s Mandala of the Week

The Rose Family
Robert Frost

The rose is a rose,
And was always a rose.
But the theory now goes
That the apple’s a rose,
And the pear is, and so’s
The plum, I suppose.
The dear only knows
What will next prove a rose.
You, of course, are a rose –
But were always a rose.

Sacred Emily (excerpt)
Gertrude Stein

Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose
Loveliness extreme.
Extra gaiters,
Loveliness extreme.
Sweetest ice-cream.
Pages ages page ages page ages.

This Week…

This week’s mandala gives us the top-down perspective of a rose, with its beautiful fibonacci/fractal-like design in plain sight and the sharp, pointy thorns hidden from view. Love’s joy invites us in, the fear of thorny pain keeps us at bay.

In Memoriam A.H.H. (excerpt)
Alfred, Lord Tennyson

I hold it true, whate’er befall;
I feel it when I sorrow most;
‘Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

Happy Coloring!

joyfully,

Maureen
