In looking at the Mandalas of the Day for this week’s theme, Mineral Orbs, I noticed that within most of them I could see what some people might call imperfections. The Obsidian Orb showed a solid black surface without any obvious markings, turning it into a black mirror…an object that could mirror back any outside imperfections into its surface. The other orbs, while polished to a smooth surface contained “floaters”, lines, and other such markings within its sphere…for all to see.
For this week’s mandala I chose to incorporate some “imperfections” into the design…which certainly makes it more interesting to color than a solid blank circle. Although…that gives me an idea for a possible future MotW.
This Week…
This week’s mandala asks us to embrace our imperfections, every scar, every wrinkle, whether physical, emotional, or psychological…it’s what makes a more interesting. Each mark represents a story worth telling. Color them into the mandala.
My Mission: connecting with our Inner Light in delightful, inspiring ways
For me, creating mandalas is more than just coloring pretty patterns in a circle. I do it because my spiritual evolution and creativity require it of me. My mandala designs come about within an active meditative state, connected with my higher self, my spiritual guides and nature spirits.
Together, we bring into form, mandala art the allows me to re-connect with my own inner peace and joy, letting me explore and expand my own creative spirit to however far and in whatever direction I want to take it.
As part of my own spiritual journey, I encourage, and hopefully inspire, others to explore their own creativity, to help them re-connect with their own inner peace and joy. As a means to that end, I make all of my mandalas available for people to color. Why should I have all the fun?
