16-10: Round Critter Faces

16-10 Round Critter Faces by Maureen Frank

Download this Week’s Mandala of the Week

In looking closely at an owl’s face, I saw some interesting mandala shapes and decided to incorporate them into this week’s rather abstracted mandala of the week. I also like how the nose and the space between the eyes creates a figure eight or infinity symbol.

From the What’s Your Sign web site, it states this about owls:

The owl is sacred to the Greek goddess of learning, Athena and is even depicted on some Greco-Roman currency as a symbol of status, intelligence and of course, wealth.

In ancient Egyptian, Celtic, and Hindu cultures the symbolic meaning of owl revolved around guardianship of the underworlds, and a protection of the dead.

In this light the owl was ruler of the night and seer of souls.

This Week…

As we color this week’s MotW, ponder that which we keep hidden and in the shadows. Connect with Owl energy to help us go deep into the “night” of our souls to help us see that which we struggle or fear to see.

Know that the Owl acts as our guardian in this process, to lead us on our ever expanding spiritual path. Know also, that which we bring to Light can be healed, nurtured and transformed.

Happy Coloring!

joyfully,
