”Nothing Means What I Think it Means”
‘A Course In Miracles’ Lessons: 1-7
Lesson 1: Nothing I see means anything.
AI Reframe: The things I see don’t hold inherent meaning on their own.
Lesson 2: I have given everything I see all the meaning it has for me.
AI Reframe: My interpretation gives meaning to what I experience.
Lesson 3: I do not understand anything I see.
AI Reframe: I don’t fully understand the events and objects in front of me.
Lesson 4: These thoughts do not mean anything.
AI Reframe: The thoughts crossing my mind don’t contain innate meaning.
Lesson 5: I am never upset for the reason I think.
AI Reframe: My emotional reactions usually come from deeper layers than I realize.
Lesson 6: I am upset because I see something that is not there.
AI Reframe: My distress comes from misperceptions, not actual threats.
Lesson 7: I see only the past.
AI Reframe: Much of what I perceive is colored by past memories and conditioning.
Message
Essentially, as we go about the week, we’re encouraged to notice our thoughts, notice the things we see, notice the experiences we have—all of it through the “cracked lens” that none of it means anything.
We’re not trying to judge or even change our minds about what we think, see, and experience. We’re just being asked to be open and willing to consider the notion that, quite possibly, everything we think, see, and experience does not mean what we think it means. That’s it.
Ponder this Week: Can I allow myself to consider that the world I see is just a projection—not a fact ?
Peace & Blessings,
Maureen
