”I Place the Future in Open Hands”

ACIM Lessons: 51-57

Lesson 51 (Review: 1–5)
I’m learning that my thoughts shape my perception, and that confusion comes from misunderstanding myself and the world.

Lesson 52 (Review: 6–10)
When my thinking is tangled, the world looks tangled. But clarity is possible.

Lesson 53 (Review: 11–15)
My interpretations often distort what’s here, but I’m practicing seeing with new eyes.

Lesson 54 (Review: 16–20)
My thoughts influence everything. I choose to open to clearer perception.

Lesson 55 (Review: 21–25)
A fearful viewpoint distorts my world, but another interpretation is available.

Lesson 56 (Review: 26–30)
Letting go of defensiveness reveals the unity beneath all things.

Lesson 57 (Review: 31–35)
I’m learning I’m not powerless, and a peaceful perspective is possible.

Message

For the next 7 days, we pause new lessons and review the ideas we’ve explored so far. This week, the focus is perception and projection.

In essence: what I believed was truth was often projection.

René Descartes’ “I think, therefore I am” predates A Course in Miracles (ACIM) by about 300 years. ACIM aligns with it — and expands it:

How I think determines how
I am
I see
I perceive
I react
I project

These early lessons gently, slowly, and methodically introduce simple — yet challenging — ideas that invite us to shift our perspective. They ask us to question what the ego-mind assumes it knows, so that we can see from a place of Higher Mind — from Truth.

Think of each lesson title as a statement of truth we are learning to align with as we move through The Course. We can ask ourselves: Where am I in relation to that truth?

Fully aligned?
Diametrically opposed?
Somewhere in between?

For instance, the very first lesson: Nothing I See Means Anything.

Where am I in relation to that statement?

Intellectually — and from an Inner Wisdom perspective — I understand the idea. My ego-mind thinks it’s a bit weird, yet shrugs and goes along with it.

Have I wholly embraced it in my day-to-day life? Not completely — and that’s okay. Like all of us, I’m still undoing and remembering. This review simply brings it back into focus as a gentle reminder.

As we color this week’s mandala, consider the review an opportunity to notice where you stand in relation to these lesson statements, make any gentle adjustments, and — of course — enjoy the coloring.

Peace & Blessings,

Maureen

I will be coloring portions of this mandala each day throughout the week and posting it with that day’s ACIM lesson on my blog site: MandalaoftheDay.com.

May Peace Prevail in our Hearts
