”There is Another Way of Looking”
ACIM Lessons: 43-50
Lesson 43 God is my Source. I cannot see apart from Him.
Neutral: True perception arises from inner connection, not separation.
Lesson 44 God is the Light in which I see.
Neutral: Insight comes from a deeper awareness within me.
Lesson 45 God is the Mind with which I think.
Neutral: My clearest thoughts come from a wiser inner intelligence.
Lesson 46 God is the Love in which I forgive.
Neutral: Forgiveness emerges naturally when my heart is open.
Lesson 47 God is the Strength in which I trust.
Neutral: Trust comes from an inner steadiness I can rely on.
Lesson 48 There is nothing to fear.
Neutral: Fear dissolves when I remember what’s truly stable.
Lesson 49 God’s Voice speaks to me all through the day.
Neutral: Guidance is always available when I’m willing to listen inwardly.
Lesson 50 I am sustained by the Love of God.
Neutral: What truly supports me is inner peace, not outer conditions.
Message
This week we go inward to re-member our connection with that inner Voice that supports and guides us in the most subtlest of ways. Where the ego-mind practically screams every version of fear it can so as to “keep us safe and comfortable”, the Voice quietly, seemingly in the background, shares instructions, guidance, and perspective in every given moment—when we train our “ears” to hear it.
The Lessons give us plenty of opportunities to practice bypassing the ego’s cacophonous, fear-based verbiage and instead tuning into that all-knowing Voice of clarity and understanding, and always for our best interest.
We also dip our toes into the concept of forgiveness, which for most of us may seem challenging. We’ve put so much energy into holding onto our hurt, indignation, and self-righteousness, that forgiveness seems nearly impossible to dole out and downright insulting to HAVE to do so.
Well hold onto your hats, people…”forgiveness” is another one of those ideas that gets a proper perspective change this week—ACIM style. Along with this week’s theme, there’s also another way of looking at the terms that ACIM uses such as the word “God”, which is prevalent throughout this week’s lessons. Feel free to replace it with whatever term allows you to embrace the message rather than reject it based on how it was delivered. The “neutral” versions provide some alternatives. Other possibilities: Universal Mind, Source, The Universe, Love, Light, Bob, Janice, Dude, Joy—just to name a few.
