Pilgrimage of Healing and Consciousness
For 2025, we’re embarking on a 52-week pilgrimage of inward healing, growth, and self-discovery…and ultimately, peace…regardless of whether the healing is related to addiction, grief, or any other challenge we seek to overcome.
Mile 32 of our pilgrimage asks us to explore the concept of waiting and seeing…meaning, rather than jumping into something while in an anxious, worried state, we’re encouraged (when appropriate) to wait and see…let some time pass beforehand. We’re encouraged to allow time for new insights, new perspectives to enter into the picture, to gain just a bit more clarity before taking any action.
With clarity and a broader perspective, we’re in a better position to assess a situation or person more properly, giving us the opportunity to make a more informed decision before moving forward.
Our challenge becomes having an enough patience to wait and see rather than acting on impulse. One time I received a letter from the IRS—talk about anxiety inducing! Of course I initially panicked and assumed the worst. Before I opened the envelope, though, I took a few deep breaths, reminded myself that “it’s just an envelope, with a letter in it”. I told myself that until I open it I have no way of knowing what it’s about so I may be creating all this stress and anxiety for nothing. As I opened it, I kept repeating to myself “it’s just a letter, it’s just a letter”. Thankfully, the letter was just letting me know about some updated account info…certainly, nothing worth raising my cortisol levels through the roof.
Even if we only “wait and see” for 10 seconds, it still gives us enough time to ground and center ourselves in the present moment…bringing our sensible self to the forefront.
How about you ? Do you tend to be impulse driven ? Are you able to take a “wait and see” approach with situations that may be worrisome or anxiety inducing ? Can you allow some time in order to gain greater insight or gather more information about these types of situations ?

About the 2025 Mandalas of the Week
Each week I will create a new mandala design to color, along with my coloring of it, and a weekly message and prompt for us to continue on our quest throughout the year. All of which is inspired by Melody Beattie’s book entitled “52 Weeks of Consciousness Contact”.
I will be breaking down each week’s topic into daily insights and images (inspired by Melody’s book) on my blog site: MandalaoftheDay.com where I’ll be creating/building one giant mandala (48”x48”), one puzzle piece of it each day.
