A Journey Into Joy
Step 12 — Week 4: Home
Step 12 Home We return home before continuing onto the next journey, bearing the treasure that has the power to transform the world as we have been transformed. We are not the same as we were when we began this journey 12 months ago. It’s time to embrace it, celebrate it, and acknowledge how much we’ve grown…bringing us that much closer on our quest into Joy.
For me I plan to continue with the areas covered in the weeks of Step 1 (health, home, The Mandala Lady, and my purpose).

Here’s my journal entry for step 12–week 4: My Purpose
Since last time, I’ve completed all four sessions with Jennifer regarding soul languages and how to use them, including determining the soul languages of my business (The Mandala Lady). For this particular step, I need to delve a bit deeper into each of the three languages to solidify my purpose.
The Axiom of Quest: Peacemaker
This is my mission for a lifetime. It’s the WHY of my being here…the driving force of my soul this time around. It’s to maintain peace for myself, while also offering peace to others and the planet. According to Jennifer’s write-up my abilities and talents are:
- seeing all sides of a situation
- finding the “peace center” in myself and offer that ability to others
- bringing a peaceful resolution to a situation
That second one is a challenge for me and it’s probably a challenge for a reason. If I, who is in a constant state of hyper-vigilance can find my “peace center” and maintain it, than I know I can help others do it too. This ties in nicely with my theme for 2025: “Let There Be Peace” (and let it begin with me).
Axiom of Translation: Monk
This is how I will be known and the fuel of my mission. It’s how my Soul Agenda combines with human expression. With this Soul Language I will be known for my devotion to living according to a particular rule, principle, or ideal (peacemaker). I can provide myself and others valuable insights about living and developing a spiritual life. According to Jennifer’s write-up my abilities and talents are:
- embracing the beauty and the perfection of life
- growing beyond my physical body and developing my spiritual life with ease.
I have my work cut out for me with this one. It sounds lovely…I just hope I can live up to it. What I need to do is determine some spiritual practices that are aligned with my mission and easy to maintain. It’s going to take connecting with “Monk” on a regular basis…and initially to see how best to make that connection.
TONE: Deliberator
This is my personality. I am slow and steady. I am leisurely and steady in movement or action. I can appear to be unhurried and will move in action after all of the pros and cons are weighed and I believe a balance has been met. According to Jennifer’s write-up my abilities and talents are:
- understanding all of the pros and cons of a decision
- understanding innately what direction to take
Physically, I hardly move slowly or steadily…and I have the bruises to prove it. I always seem to be in a hurry, rushing from place to place…mainly, it would seem, because fear getting into trouble…definitely some childhood stuff there. My constant hyper-vigilance has me always on my guard, ready to justify myself, defend myself, or otherwise deflect any bad stuff away from me. (Need to find my peace center ASAP).
That being said, in general, when it comes to projects (personal or business), it can come across that I’m moving slowly…heck my Archangel Mandala #1 took me 7 years to complete. What I do know is I tend to let things percolate and then jump right into action when the time feels right.
For instance, around 2004 I was told I would be doing intuitive readings for people, to which I told that person “I don’t think so…that’s what other people do”. Late 2010, I woke up one day feeling like “yes, I think I can do readings”…and within a few weeks I did 7 readings at my first physic fair.
My challenge becomes determining whether I’m procrastinating out of fear or am I percolating. It occurs to me right now how I can approach my projects list…which each item on it I can ask: are you ready to go or do you need to percolate some more?
Overall, as the end of 2024 approaches, I do feel more joy about my purpose than I did a year ago. Now that I have a direction and a Team to work with, I feel empowered and supported…with my number one mission in 2025 being to find and connect with my “peace center”…essentially step one towards achieving my mission.
That’s it for now.

ABOUT “A JOURNEY INTO JOY”
With all the anxiety and stress in the world right now, focusing on joy may seem a bit counterintuitive. Mais contraire mes amis. We actually need more joy in our lives…now more than ever. And it starts within each of us. It’s been my experience that when in that higher vibrational state of joy, it helps raise the vibration of those around us as well.
Brené Brown defines joy as “an intense feeling of deep spiritual connection, pleasure, and appreciation”. Of late, I mostly experience only moments of happiness and on a rare occasion, joy…thus my desire to journey into joy.
My quest throughout this year is to explore, experience, and express this state in a variety of ways, including following a variation of the hero’s journey, as professed by Jospeh Campbell.
Care to join me? Here’s how…
MandalaoftheMonth.com: On the first of the month, I’ll create and post a mandala for coloring. Each month we’ll take another step along the “journey into joy” by following a modified version Joseph Campbell’s a hero’s journey. Included in each step will be a description of the step and prompts for coloring and/or journaling for the month. You’re welcome to color them as well…they’re free to download.
MandalaoftheWeek.com: Each Monday I’ll be posting my coloring of that month’s Mandala of the Month, which will produce 4-5 colorings of that design. With each one, I intend to dig deeper into the message of that month’s mandala. You’re welcome to color along as well.
